
The activity started with a message from MWO-WDC Labor Attaché Saul T. De Vries and followed by the discussion of the topic by Ms. Jennifer C. Villena, Asst. Manager of BSP’s Economic and Financial Learning Office. The webinar provided information on adopting and using safely digital products and services. It emphasized the importance of managing one’s digital footprint, identifying and avoiding the most common fraud and scams, and outlined steps on what to do in case becoming victimized by fraudsters and scammers. Moreover, the roles and responsibilities of financial consumers, the BSP Financial Consumer Protection Framework and Consumer Assistance Mechanism were also discussed.
Commercial Counsellor Kenneth Yap of the Philippine Embassy was also present during the webinar and answered some of the queries from the attendees.
The activity is conducted in line with the celebration of the National Women’s Month.
