The Philippine Embassy through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), launched last year “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan” webinar series. The webinars aim to provide information in relation to Filipino workers in the United States and in the Caribbean basic entrepreneurship, upskilling opportunities, financial literacy and the national reintegration programs of the Philippine Government.
For the months of November and December 2020, Post conducted two follow-up upskilling seminar on Pizza and Milk Tea making and Basic Video Making. The seminars were participated not only by the Filipino workers onsite but also joined by their families left behind in the Philippines.
Mr. Ramon “RP” Argonza, CEO of Argonza Trading, introduced the basics in pizza and milk tea making as a start-up business of families of Filipino workers in the Philippines. RP further provided information on basic accounting to guide the aspiring Filipino workers to venture into these businesses on their pricing.
On the other hand, the seminar Basic Video Making was presented by Ms. Avic Ilaga, Filmmaker, Managing Director of Blacksoup. The four sessions seminar includes, basic filmmaking, basic lighting, editing and scoring, and online platform and contents. The objective of the seminar is that at the end of the four sessions, the participants will be able to shoot and edit their chosen subject and express their personal views on creating contents and how to use it.
