The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO-WDC), together with the Philippine Embassy, held its second virtual celebration of OFW family day through a Christmas caroling contest, with this year’s theme, “KANTikTok sa Embahada: Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko” on December 18, 2021.

 

Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez and DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III are this year’s virtual guests, who shared their respective Christmas messages of hope for healthy and resilient OFWs during the Christmas Season and for the incoming year amidst COVID-19.

 

For this year, a total of nine entries from the Filipino communities and organizations, 8 of which were submitted under the Filipino communities/ migrant organizations in the US and the Caribbean Islands category. Only one entry was submitted under the OFW families category.

 

The Filipino Community in Turks and Caicos Islands received the first prize while the Quarentados of Maryland and Bayanihan, were second and third, respectively under the Filipino community category. On the other hand, Team Salting received the first prize as it was uncontested.

 

The activity was intended to engage Filipino communities/organizations, families and their kids through a Christmas Caroling and Tik Tok contests as well as serve as a venue to showcase the talents of the migrant Filipino workers.###
