MWO-WDC, Virginia Beach City explore options on hiring more OFWs

18 March 2023 – The Migrant Workers Office in Washington DC (MWO-WDC) and the City of Virginia Beach Development Authority (VBDA) recently held exploratory talks on the recruitment of Filipino workers to fill various positions needed by different industries and establishments in the city.
Labor Attaché Saul De Vries assured VBDA’s Business Development Coordinator Ishane Mouak of MWO’s assistance in facilitating the deployment of skilled workers from the Philippines through the established procedures of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). “We will identify and recommend possible areas of cooperation between the city and the DMW on the deployment of workers,” said De Vries.
Assistant Labor Attaché Marie Josephine Borromeo, and Welfare Officer Mae Codilla and Mr. Jo Mari Rifareal joined the meeting.
